If you want to enjoy some time at the beach during your South Korea trip, you can fly from UK airports to Busan Gimhae International Airport (PUS). Busan is located on Korea’s south coast and has easy access to seaside areas, like Haeundae Beach and the Taejongdae cliff walk. You can fly from London Gatwick Airport (LGW) to PUS with China Eastern, stopping off once in Shanghai (PVG).

Passengers based in the north of the UK can find flights from the UK to South Korea with just one stopover on route. You can fly from Manchester Airport (MAN) to Incheon International Airport (ICN) with Air France and change planes once at Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) in Paris. You can also find one-stop flights from Edinburgh Airport (EDI) to Incheon with Air France and Qatar Airways. If you fly with Qatar Airways, your journey will include one stopover in Doha (DOH).

Both Incheon International Airport (ICN) and Busan Gimhai International Airport (PUS) have a great range of airport hotels located in or around the terminals so that passengers can enjoy a restful night after their journey. If you’re landing at PUS, you can take a 5min metro ride direct from the terminals to the Air Sky Hotel. Meanwhile, if you arrive at ICN, you can stay at the Grand Hyatt Incheon or the Incheon Airport Gogo House, which are both a 30min ride away on the metro. Meanwhile, if you land at Gimpo International Airport (GMP), you can stay at the Lotte City Hotel Gimpo Airport.

  • What should I pack for a flight to Korea?

Korea has a generally warm climate that turns cold for a few months in winter, usually between November and March. If you’re travelling during the long summer in Korea, you should pack light clothes that will help you stay cool. It is also a good idea to pack clothes that dry quickly as the summer climate can be very humid and heavy rainfall is common. If you’re travelling in the winter months, pack some cold-weather gear, like jumpers, jackets, hats, and gloves. Korean cities have great public transport, but you may find that you have to walk a lot between metro stops and popular tourist sites. This means you should pack lightweight, comfortable shoes that will keep your feet dry.

  • What are some things to do in Korea?

Whether you are exploring Seoul, Incheon, or Busan, Korea has plenty of great attractions to keep you entertained. Visitors to Seoul can check out amazing historical sites, like the Changdeokgung Palace or the War Memorial of Korea. You can learn all about Korean culture at the National Museum of Korea. Seoul also has some beautiful natural areas, such as Namsan Park and the Bukhansan National Park, which is located just outside the city and is great for hiking. In Busan, visitors can explore the beautiful Haedong Yonggungsa temple or ride the Songdo Cable Car across the bay. Meanwhile, visitors in Incheon can head to Incheon Grand Park or hit the rides at the Wolmido theme park.

  • Can I take public transit from Korean Airports to the city centre?

There are excellent public transport links from major Korean airports to their nearby city centres. Passengers landing at Incheon International Airport (ICN) can take the Incheon Airport Railroad to connect with Incheon, Gimpo International Airport (GMP), and Seoul city centre. If you are travelling to Incheon city centre, you should get off at Geoman station and take line 2 on to Incheon. This journey takes around 1h 15min. If you want to continue on to Seoul Station, you should stay on the train. You will reach Seoul Station in just under 1h. If you land at Busan Gimhae International Airport (PUS), you can take the metro straight from the airport station to Busan city centre. This will take around 45min and cost roughly 5000 KRW (3 GBP).
