Whether you are hitting the party of the year, indulging in a luxurious dinner at one of the city’s top restaurants, checking out the latest hot spot, or heading somewhere few people think to go, there are plenty of places where you can create a special New Year’s Eve moment in Singapore. Here are a few of our favourites.

At the Marina Bay Countdown

Check out the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown. Enjoy live performances and the annual fireworks display that lights up the sky for a full eight minutes, allowing plenty of time to steal a kiss. Wishing spheres are set afloat on the Bay of Hope and Light, representing dreams for the New Year. So, if you haven’t found someone to kiss as the clock strikes twelve yet, try your luck on a wishing sphere.

On the Singapore Flyer

Whether you splash out with a Private Champagne Capsule, enjoy Sky Dining for Two, or indulge in a Premium Champagne Flight, accompanied by chocolate and champagne, you’ll enjoy great views of the fireworks display from atop the Singapore Flyer and – if you are lucky – a New Year’s kiss in the most romantic of settings.

Atop the SkyPark Observation Deck at Marina Bay Sands

Unsurpassed views from the SkyPark Observation Deck at Marina Bay Sands are guaranteed, so where better to get your New Year’s kiss than overlooking all of Singapore while enjoying the fireworks and live entertainment? Alternatively, pick one of the resorts’ restaurants or bars — try Spago for an exquisite meal or Club55 for a fab party, both offering spectacular views of the Singapore skyline as the city lights up for 2016.

Get a room

Book a room or suite at Marina Bay Sands or the Ritz Carlton, both of which offer impressive views of the fireworks and all that’s going on down in Marina Bay. Order room service and clink your champagne flutes in the privacy of your own room – it’s just you two and the view. If that’s not a setting for a New Year’s kiss, where is?

Snuggle up at Christmas Wonderland

Spend the evening at Gardens by the Bay, where its Christmas Wonderland brings snow to the tropics with a nightly Blizzard. You’ll feel the chill even in the hot night air, and there’s nothing like snuggling up for a kiss. Unfortunately, Christmas Wonderland closes at midnight so you might have to sneak in a snog before the clock strikes twelve.

Hit the Beach

Looking for something a little more lively? Head down to Sentosa Island and the renowned Siloso Beach Party, where you can dance the night away from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., with a foam pool, beach party, local and international DJs and more. With 12 hours of fun ahead of you, there will be plenty of opportunities to find that kiss.

Enjoy the view from Mount Faber

Head away from the hustle and bustle and ride the night away on the Singapore Cable Car to Faber Peak. Enjoy a private countdown in the sky with your loved one and a glass of champagne – surely those are all the ingredients you need for a New Year’s Kiss. There are also set dinner options at Faber Bistro with views from the peak or, for something a little more casual, lounge in hammocks as you gaze out over the buzzing city and catch a glimpse of the fireworks.

Give a soundtrack to your smooch

If dance music, electronica and boogying the night away are not quite your thing, you can ring in the New Year with an evening of orchestral favourites performed by The Philharmonic Orchestra. This classy affair includes a glass of bubbly and, though not guaranteed, offers up a pretty prime setting for a midnight kiss.

Go Bollywood

Amidst 30,000 balloons and Bollywood tunes, lock lips at the biggest bash of the year, which includes a sumptuous dinner, dancing, drinks and entertainment, as well as lucky draws, games, stand-up and more.

On ice

For something a little bit different, head to the city’s Olympic-sized ice skating rink for a party. The Rink‘s New Year Foam Party Countdown offers three hours of skating and a white Christmas snowfall. It’s also the only place where you can accidentally fall into the arms of a fellow skater to clinch that New Year’s kiss.

Hit the streets

For madness and mayhem, join the street party at Clarke Quay with its parade, live entertainment, dancers, street performers and more. All the nearby clubs have parties too, so pick one at which to carry on the celebrations post-countdown, particularly if you’ve been lucky enough to find someone with whose lips you can lock.
