When is the best time to fly to Livingstone?
Livingstone has a hot, humid and rainy climate. Seasons are generally divided into a rainy, wet season and a dry season, separated by hot, semi-wet months.
The most popular months to visit Livingstone are April, September and October, thanks to ideal weather conditions and a plethora of festivals. Because these months draw the most tourists, they can also be the most expensive times to visit.
Budget-conscious travellers should consider the months of December, January and February, also known as the wet season. Temperatures hover between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius, and heavy rainfall creates quite a bit of humidity as well. Although the climate is not the best, airfare and hotel rooms can be cheaper to score.
March and November are considered the pre-wet season months, which can offer decent discounts to visitors without the harsher weather conditions of December through February. During the months of May, June and July, hot temperatures and a lack of rain makes up a dry season that also brings cheaper deals to the city.

The former capital of Zambia, the city of Livingstone is named after the Scottish explorer David Livingstone, the first European to find Victoria Falls. Located near the Zambezi River, Zambia is known for its water-based activities – especially those that revolve around the aforementioned Victoria Falls.
Victoria Falls is one of the biggest draws when it comes to visiting Livingstone. While touring the park surrounding the falls, visitors can even touch the river water before it cascades over the falls into the biggest falling water curtain in the world. Under the falls, a narrow bridge provides some of the best views of the water and the park. Such an up-close view also puts visitors in the way of the spraying water, but plenty of gear is available at the park’s entrance to keep tourists from getting wet.
Adventure sports are another major draw for Livingstone. Bungee jumping is one of the most popular tourist activities, especially from a bridge that crosses the Zambia and Zimbabwe border. Helicopter flights, water rafting, zip lining, elephant safaris and microflights over the falls add an undeniable element of excitement to any trip to Livingstone.
