When we arrived at Hertz, one person seemed to have our name on a list, but the check in desk did not have our reservation in the system. It took another hour for them to set us up with a new reservation. I don’t know if this was the fault of Kayak or Hertz, but it was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Will likely not use Kayak again.
I arrived at the airport...the flight was 2 hours late, hertz was supposed to be open 24 hours--they weren't. I had to pay for an Uber from the airport to the hotel, back to the airport in the morning (same cost as 2 days of my rental) then they only had subcompact cars when I had reserved a full sized car....so I cancelled. worst car rental experience of my life. (it really sucked to be at an airport at 130am in the morning and not have your transportation waiting for you)
I ordered a Audi or similar car to pick up yesterday. When I got to pick it up they don’t have anything similar to an Aldie and they try to give me a Nissan. I asked if they had anything closer and the closest was a Volkswagen. We spent probably 30 minutes going back-and-forth inside before finally getting out to the cars in the lot. Once we got to the lot, they again try to give me a Nissan. I had to tell them no, we agreed on a Volkswagen. Finally we left with a super basic model Volkswagen instead of the premium Audi that I selected and paid for. I would like a refund for this reservation please.
pick up & drop off there is no booth just some hertz guys working out of a car trunk in the parking lot hard to find as there is little to no signage at the transaction kiosk the directions they provided was> go out the door cross the street and into the in the parking lot 24,000km on the car it smelled and was poor suspension - shaky ride on the streets and highway
Location of car pick-up was different than advertised. Lots of hidden fees. Inefficient pick-up/drop-off process (long wait and processing times). Although we didn't have high expectations for the economy model car we rented, the brakes and steering we're pretty sketchy.
Didn't take the car in Tijuana. Tried to overcharge massively.

Everyone was very nice, but because I don't speak Spanish and there were no English speakers there and the forms were in Spanish.....you get the idea.
I had to pay for an entire extra day because I didn't understand what I was being told. Really my fault because I was ina Spanish speaking country. However, they did say on the phone that there was an English speaker available.
They were very open and easy to talk to. Got us in and out quick.
There was no staff at airport, and I couldn’t reach an agent due to site phone number not working. After 45 minutes of trying to get help I walked to car lot to pick up vehicle. Was charged outrageous amount for insurance.
Everything was good but they get you with insurance
Be transparent when reserving cars for cheap then having to pay way more with insurance
I had a reservation at 11am. I was late getting into town and arrived around 12:30. The guy told me that my reservation was at 7am even though I showed my confirmation email that said 11am and he said they didn’t have a car for me. They didn’t even then suggest that there was an enterprise next door I walked there after looking it up myself and rented a car there instead.
Amazing drop off attendant and chofer to take you to the airport
