I hated the car Tiogga Chery. Big clunker. The welcome message video/music that played every time I opened the door got extremely tedious. Can't that be turned off? The car itself has badly designed software. For example the back trunk door would open at random times when I was driving! This happened twice. I would have to stop the car to make it close. Inconvenient and a danger since I could have lost items out the back. Additionally, it was annoying to have the car unlock every time I got near it and then when I would go to the front of the car it would promptly lock again. Why not give me control over when I want to unlock the car? It is a decision any human is capable of making. Many of the controls were obscure. Overall, the car was ridiculous in its design software. The people who did the car rental were excellent.

Very easy to get car at airport. Price was a bit high but options are limited at balmaceda. Car was clean and full of gas and worked perfectly the whole trip.

Pleasant, relatively hassle free (for Chile). Did not have any problems with the car. Return was straightforward, no quibbling.

They do provide proprietary insurance which does not however include unpaved roads, unfortunate when one considers that the vast majority of roads in this region are unpaved. The 18% VAT waiver for non-residents in lodging does not apply in the case of car rentals. Car rental (this is not directed at Europacar) is quite expensive in the entire region for understandable reasons, poor roads, crazy drivers, poor signage, etc. I suppose the above points are true of all firms industry wide and do not signal out Europacar which provided me with a well maintained car at a lower price than its competitors, courteous service without hassles or fuss.
