Cheap Car Rentals in Kentucky

Couldn’t rent a car because I did not have a major credit card that y’all didn’t tell me about tried to call you guys to make sure I get my money back which couldn’t get in touch with anybody so I had to cancel my card in dispute the transaction for fraud

So wonderful. It is super great.

I had two rentals in 5 days. The first one was aweful! It was late in the evening and they ran out of cars. So the counter lady gave me a damaged sedan at right rear bump. I drove the car to my hotel and inspect the car and found the damage which was marked with white sharpies. Apparently they are aware of the damage but did not tell me. To get a peace of mind, I tried call customer service multiple times to solve the situation. It was a frustrating experience but I was able to reach the right department and have them recorded it. When I returned the car 4 days later, the receiving guy just laughed and told me not worry and he knew about the damage! But it was a bad experience. The second rental was smooth! I rented a car since my flight was cancellation. However, my wife left her purse when I returned it. The customer service was very helpful this time! One call and they reached out to the rental location and found the purse! What a difference in a day!

Horrible customer service. They canceled our original reservation and made us pay more to change it. Then when it came time to check out, they overcharged us

Outstanding service at the Louisville airport. The car was fine, just small.

They charged me an erroneous fee of $19.99 for an “Inter-City” drop off… that I’d rented one place but was dropping the car elsewhere. This wasn’t true - at all. They’ve not rectified the situation.

When I arrived to pickup I was advised that I could not use a debit card to prepay for the rental. The Hertz manager said that even thought it was prepaid with a Visa debit through Kayak, they could not honor the rental because I used a debit card instead of a credit card. She was able to make some adjustments and allow the rental with an additional $500 hold on my debit card for a $60 rental. She also informed me that if she had not been working, they would have denied the rental. I probably will not book through Kayak again based on this discrepancy.

I reserved an economy car.. I arrived at 8am to pick up the car. They had no cars. They said they might not have a car that day. I was later offered a 12 passenger van that had been to the beach and had not been cleaned. It was full of sand and trash. It was only me driving a dirty 12 passenger van from Lexington KY to Memphis TN. The van also smelled like someone smoked in it.

I reserved with payment well ahead of time. ( 2 months)Got a mini van instead of the SUV that I reserved. No advance notice that a change would be made. This is my third time renting here in a just over a years time. The first was stellar. The second was good and this was so so. I wouldn’t have minded the van if it had been comfortable, but for the whole day trip to and from Florida it was a huge disappointment. Go back to Honda pilot. Those were the best . And if there is going to be a change, let the customer know in advance. As the lot was full of mini vans, I suspect this was the plan ahead of time. Must have got a deal on Plymouth voyagers.

Very good, counter people were professional

At pickup, they would not let us add drivers without every driver having their own credit card. We’ve rented from several rental car companies over the past 8 years and have never needed all 3 listed drivers to have their own credit card, only the primary renter has needed a major credit card. When we asked to use a debit card and a deposit to add drivers, we were told “that’s not how we do things here” in a rude tone. Because of that, we had to make a 14 hour trip (one way) with only one driver, out of 3 capable adults. When we picked up the van, it wasn’t cleaned well. There was sand and dirt in the carpet all throughout the second and third rows, the cup holders in the center console had something sticky in them, and there were candy wrappers in the third row. I didn’t notice the sticky substance or the candy wrappers until later that evening, when we were packing up to leave, so I cleaned it and went on. The oil had also not been changed in the car. I kept getting “change oil soon” notifications. We will not be renting from National again. I was not impressed with the lack of cleanliness, their lack of proper maintenance their vehicles, or the rental policy on adding drivers.
