Sixt refused the Kayak pre-paid reservation claiming it required a credit card of the driver to have paid for the rental fee, which makes no sense. They could’ve collected a credit card for a security deposit at the spot, but not reject the pre-paid fee and insurance entirely. At least I was fully reimbursed for the pre-payment, but then they forced the driver to hire their own insurance which was much more expensive

Bait and switch. Reserved a compact, get there and am told they don’t have any, but I can pay an extra $20/day for an “upgrade”. When I ask “what if I say no?” They reply that I can wait around for someone to return a compact (mind you this is at 10pm at night. Also really long lines makes no difference whether you have a reservation or walk in off the street it’s first come first serve, with commission based sales teams up selling you.

I became a Gold member in order to avoid lines and people. I was told I didn’t have to get in line just look at the screen for my name. My name wasn’t in the screen so I had to make a line. They finally tell me the exact location of my car. I get to it and I see a car that does not match what I rented. I asked two different workers there what do I do. Both of them tell me to just take the car. I explained to them I just arrived from a long flight and I have a baby. I do not want to be back and forth so please confirm. They both tell me just take it, not a problem. When I am leaving parking lot, the manager tells me I have to get all my things out of the car and go to a different car. I explained to him what his two workers have said to me and how I had already put my baby’s car seat in. Main reason I wanted confirmation before. He gets mad and me and tells me to move out the car quickly. I found it rude and disrespectful for him to treat me that way after I wanted to avoid all that and become a gold member for what? Still issues came nothing was smooth. I had my family of five getting out in the middle of the exit, rearranging the stroller and bags again. They refused to give me my license until I switched cars, acting as if I would steal something? I never cared for the car I just wanted to get my family to the hotel. The treatment was unnecessary especially since I was the one making sure which car to take. Avoid!

Booked with you all for a different location then wasn’t “allowed” to drop off to my selection point. Had to cancel last day and was only given $15 back for loss of a whole last day. Hertz informed me I was not allowed to drop off car at airport with a lock box or drop keys somewhere. Then when I took car a day early to Hertz in Port Charlotte, the manager told me I actually could have dropped off key to Punta Gorda airport, which was my original plan. Lost lots of money including paying fir Uber rides because I no longer had rental car. Horrible experience

I never received my car. I had a 12pm pick up from a location that closed at 12pm. How does that make any sense. Clearly a faulty system. When I arrived at 12:18, there was no one around for help. They were then closed until 2 days later. I was stranded and had to rent a car from someone else. But it gets even better, Hertz still charged me for the car I never used! Terrible service

My wife picked up the rental and accidentally purchased cdw insurance. I called and could not get through to a human. The office where it was picked up did not answer the phone. I stopped in a different office and asked to remove the cdw for the remainder of the trip and was told that could only be done at the original pickup location, which is ludicrous.

We never got our car. We had to find and pay for another car from Hertz. I was on the phone with dollar for an hour and couldn't talk to a live person. It was 1am and I was stranded at the airport. Another 200$ to Hertz for one night, then back to the airport my first day of vacation to get another car from Avis. I am still trying to get a refund from dollar. It was a horrible experience. Hertz and Avis were great. I will not book another car with you, I will go directly to the agency.

My car could’ve been better I was told I can have a Full-size car it was not a Nissan Ultima it’s not a full-size car it is a compact car I’m 5 foot 11 280 pounds I could not fit in the car very tight dollar rental and other rental companies are charging Full size prices for compact cars. customers for compact caars! there’s no way a Nissan Ultima is a full-size car I could barely fit in the car very uncomfortable.😕

The agent walked away from us to get breakfast before helping us. We were the only ones in line and he was the only agent. After he showed us our “midsize’ car, we refused the rental and we were told it was the only one available or there was a 25/day increase. We handed the contract back to him, walked over to Sixt and had excellent customer service for a lesser price. Will not rent from Dollar/Thrift again. Still amazed about the Starbucks incident - who leaves someone standing in line while you get something to eat!!

At pick up I had to wait over an hour in a long line at the airport with many people who were not socially distancing nor wearing masks. There were only 2 people working there for Budget and Avis together! The reason I rented the car was to avoid airports and planes and covid!

Have more staff and less wait time.

This was a brand new Santa Fe. There was a mechanical issue that caused us some problems but we got through it. And the dealer, Budget adjusted the rate to compensate us for this. All in all a great experience

They had no rental cars left when I arrived, even though I had a reservation. There were 100 other furious people at the counter who also did not have a rental car. The Clerk told us that if we came back the next day, they "might" have a car for us. Completely unprofessional.

Don't understand the need for a $200 drop-off fee for dropping the car at Ft. Myers airport (picked up in Ft. Lauderdale). Seems excessive! After all, all the cars belong to Enterprise. Even if you had a driver bringing the car back to Ft. Lauderdale, $200 is a rip-off.

The Enterprise situated at Executive airport where we had made original reservations, first had promised to shuttle us from FLL to pick up the car to then tell us that they don’t do that. Also to make matters worse, then told us the car we had rented wasn’t available, thirdly left us hanging on hold for over 30 minutes and never came back on the line. So we were stranded at FLL for a very long time. Thankfully Enterprise rent a car at FLL got us the exact car we needed.

DO NOT TRUST PAYLESS!! They canceled our reservation the night before pick up and did not have a replacement for us! There was no one at the desk when we arrived at the airport! We were stuck trying to find a replacement and ended up paying twice the amount!!

Had to wait over an hour in line to check in. They only had two people working and there was a very long line. When I finally spoke to a rep I was told it was going to be another hour to get my car since they did not have one in the type that I ordered. I ordered a wildcard which is basically dealers choice. After I expressed my displeasure in having to wait another hour they finally gave me a truck to rent. Unlikely to use them again. Saving a couple of bucks with them was not worth the hassle.

The sales person renting the car was knowledgeable regarding insurance, need for toll transponder, and condition of the car (a few minor scrapes). By suggesting that my credit card may already cover collision damage (he was correct) and explaining the need for a transponder where I was headed (he was correct again) he saved my a great deal of money. His performance also underscored the reputation of Economy Rent a Car as the best place to “Rent a Car”. Nothing could have been better on both pick-up and return. Dave Weatherbee

I entered in my information for a different drop off point and when I submitted my order, it just reverted back to where I was initially picking up the car because you dont have a drop off in maimi . At that point there was no way that I could get my money back so this was a complete waste of $165. We had to rent another car for $600 because of this bullshit
